     Doesn't surprise me. The state has lots of socially conservative Democrats down south.

Can anyone who opposes this explain what good comes from the California capital punishment statute and the millions of dollars it costs a year?

Don't say "justice" because even if you consider execution a valid form of that it's not being used.

     The death penalty in California is basically just redistributing wealth to lawyers, as they spend years appealing executions that will never happen. It's almost unreal how bad of a policy it is.
