I think Massachusetts is the most likely for 45th, No matter who wins in November (Romney, Patrick, etc.).

I'll take a guess as well.

45th - New York (Clinton, Cuomo, Gillibrand)
46th - Florida (Rubio)

Montana/Ohio '16

Florida/North Carolina '20

Which is to say,  Brian Schweitzer/Sherrod Brown in 2016, and Marco Rubio/Pat McCrory in 2020. That is, if it's an Obama win in 2012.

If it's a Romney win, I would still bet on Schweitzer trying for a win, but I don't know if he'd be successful.

Massachusetts is probably the most likely option for #45 (since it could be Romney in 2012, or else Patrick or even Warren in 2016).  I guess New York would be the most likely for #46 (since if Romney wins in 2012, Clinton could win in 2016, or else either Cuomo or Gillibrand could win in either 2016 or 2020, or else Gillibrand could end up being VP for whoever #45 is, and then taking over).

Florida, New Jersey, and Wisconsin are also top contenders for either #45 or #46.  Virginia also shouldn't be discounted, since it keeps producing politicians that are rumored to have national ambitions.
