Could be the kind of state which surprises us.. Not that it would go Romney or anything, but the fact that he's doing relatively well there and Obama relatively much worse than in 2008 compared to other states lends credence to these two otherwise rather oddball looking polls.

Country Club Republicans. 'Nuff said.

The Northeast in general, especially New Hampshire and Maine, is definitely moving in the Republican direction at least so far as local elections go. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Republican win former Democratic Northeast strongholds come 2016 or 2020.

Isn't Connecticut basically wealthy white suburbs in the western-half of the state and working class white people in the rest of the state? None of those groups are really that enthused about Obama.

Connecticut is pretty jacked. It does have quite a few wealthy honkeys in Fairfield County, but they do have quite a few poor peebles too.

Why McMahon would lead in a poll, I don't know.. especailly in Connecticut.

Murphy is running a terrible campaign thus far.  Rightly or wrongly, he's getting pounded over a home equity loan given to him while sitting on the House Banking Committee despite his having a history of not paying his mortgage a few years earlier.  And he's not up with ads in the NYC TV market, which includes Fairfield County, Connecticut, while McMahon seems to air a new ad there every few days.  McMahon is attacking Murphy from a number of angles, including his voting for a bill that would harm Connecticut defense jobs and his committee attendance record.
