No link yet, but it's coming.

McCrory: 51% (+5)
Dalton: 38% (-3)   last poll was taken at the beginning of August.

McCrory has a stellar 61/28% favorable/unfavorable rating amongst NC likely voters. Dalton's aren't too bad either (46/38%).

Beverly Perdue's job approval rating is 45/52%. Why didn't she run for reelection again?

Party ID is D+4

Ouch.

Beverly Perdue's job approval rating is 45/52%. Why didn't she run for reelection again?

There was also speculation that she'd drag down Obama and other Democrats.

Fair enough. But would she be trailing right now by 13-15 points, like it appears Dalton is? Numbers like that could really drag down the ticket as well. I was just surprised to see her with only a -7 job rating.

I think McCrory would have a modest lead of 5-6 points. She was a good campaigner in 2008, IIRC.

Well, the 45/52 spread is actually the best I recall seeing from her; its far better than most of what PPP had been showing.

I think the logic was that a fresher face would be better against McCrory.
