I'm sorry but I can't support this.  We want people to stop clogging up the roads, which are heavily crowded as it is.  We at least need to pair something like this with funds for a high-speed rail to reduce traffic, which is a leading cause of accidents.

I am okay with this act, especially since we should be actively encouraging people to use public transport provisions, like the high speed rail network Mr. Nix referred to.

Well, Jersey's gone, so that line of debate is settled.

Debate time has expired. Representatives will vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain on the final text:

Take My License, All That Jive Act

1. Speed limits in excess of 75 miles per hour are hereby prohibited on regional and local roads.

2. Speed limits in excess of 55 miles per hour are hereby prohibited on regional and local roads except for divided highways in counties classified as rural by the Census Bureau of Atlasia.

Aye.

It turns out that last vote was invalid, as someone who totally wasn't me didn't include the Governor's amendment. They are being punished with fire as we speak.

Voting will last for 24 hours or until all Representatives have voted.

3. The Northeast Department of Transportation is hereby authorized to set minimum speed limits on regional roads and highways.
