Yup, so I was discussing politics with two of my friends, and we determined they both supported Obama (and I supported Romney). One of them asked me if there was anyone else who could win, at least in theory, and I told them there was the nominee of the Green Party, Jill Stein, and the nominee of the Libertarian Party, Gary Johnson. Both dismissed the Green Party out of hand and asked me about Gary Johnson, so I brought up the 'Political positions of Gary Johnson' article on my phone's Wikipedia app. Both of them expressed fairly enthusiastic support for Johnson after reading about him, which I suppose helps Romney indirectly, though one is 15 and the other is 16, so it doesn't really matter.

Yeah if you're not of voting age, you could be the most enthusiastic Romney supporter there is, your voice still technically does not count.

That's not the point...

But it's the fact.

Talking about politics at school is dumb. The only class where it ever should come up is Journalism. Most people just parrot their parent's beliefs.

Or debate, or when the history/civics teacher encourages it. But the second portion is true.

...ummmm....yes it is... Roll Eyes

No; the point is that people reply enthusiastically when they are informed about Gary Johnson's campaign.

There's a guy in my class who supports Gary Johnson. He's also a total stoner.

Or pose as wingnut extremists.

Indeed, the support of two 15 year old kids really changes the course of this election.

Good for you! Well, it doesn't really matter who these kids support because they're still so young and their political views are likely to change considerably in the future but it's certainly positive if you made them more interested in politics.

Perhaps they'll influence their parents.

I supported the Libertarian Party when I was 15.  Thankfully, I came around.

To sad face town.  Who are you voting for btw?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only third party candidate that has a chance of getting near 5% is Gary Johnson after Roemer bowed out.  So why don't young leftists realize the only way to stop corporatism is to replace it with actual capitalism?  I mean I'd take pure communism over the genius economic structure we've got now.  Obviously I think pure capitalism was better, but if there was some socialist candidate (Bernie Sanders or Dennis Kucinich (just cus he said he saw a UFO Wink) was running third party, and had a much better chance then libertarian or other non-neocon candidates, I'd totally vote for him/her.
