Attention Midwestern citizens!  We are hoping to bring the Fifth Constitutional Convention (for the Fourth Constitution) to a close.  To aid in our task, we wish to know what you think about various aspects of our region.  Please vote on the following items.  The Convention has decided that we will use Approval voting, with the Prime Verin (that's me) as the tiebreaker, so vote , , or on these various items and we'll see what comes out of it.

Hmm, counting up approval voting is harder than I thought.  I should've been more precise about whether I would count "" as an exceptionally angry abstention or as a negative point against a proposal.  Happily, the election wouldn't go very differently depending on how that is adjudged.

I declare the results to be as follows:

State Name
Harmony, with a net approval of +5 (8-2-3), was the highest vote-getter.
However, in this case, it depends on whether disapprovals are counted against a proposal.  If so, it is a four-way tie between "Adventure", "Amity", "the Art", and "Antidisestablishmentarianism", with a net approval of +2.  If not, "the Art" and "Antidisestablishmentarianism" are ruled out.  I refer this matter back to the ConCon.

Region Descriptor
With a net approval of +7 (8-4-1), Most Serene Republic shall be the descriptor for our region.  I congratulate the Midwest for picking such an excellent and fitting name.

With a net approval of +8 (8-5-0), Cheesewhiz, Vitality shall be the name of our capital, which shall have the executive, legislative, and judicial seats of our most serene republic's government.

I probably should've thought about this more before I put it here.  Uh.  Well, the executive will have tie-breaking power and cake-devouring and hugging authority.  However, the net approval of veto power in the legislature is exactly 0.  Since only three Midwesterners voted in the affirmative for this proposal, I hereby declare the tie resolved in favor of no veto powers.

Legislature
With a net approval of +8 (8-5-0), the Midwest will change to a universal legislature with pre-defined voting periods.

Election Type
With a net approval of +6 (7-5-1), the Midwest will use simple Instant Runoff Voting in its elections.  (Note that the total number of approvals, 7, is identical to approval voting.  However, the number of disapprovals for that form is greater, and approval voting has been annoying, at least in this instance.)

Election Length
With a net approval of +13 (13-0-0), the Midwest will have week-long elections.

Regional Muffin
With a net approval of +5 (6-6-1), the Midwest will adopt the blueberry muffin as its official muffin.
