If for some reason Hillary declines to run in 2016, how would the likely Democrat frontrunners Mark Warner and Andrew Cuomo fight for primary states.

I think Warner can win Iowa.
Cuomo can win New Hampshire.
Warner can win South Carolina, and then probably the nomination.

What is every one else's prediction?

Also, has everyone forgotten about O'Malley?

I doubt the nomination will come down to two New Democrats.

Race to the Boredom

I think Warner would win, although Cuomo would do well in larger states.

Warner and Cuomo have more money than O'Malley at this point.

Martin is also younger than the 2 others.

You also forgot Schweitzer.  He's  as likely as Warner to be the "rural" candidate.  Also, there will almost surely be a hardcore progressive running to Obama's left.  That would probably be Elizabeth Warren if she wins this year.  She could be very formidable in the primary electorate, especially if she is the only non-white guy in the field.

Cuomo's problem is the he's from NYC and therefore looks more liberal than he actually is.  He doesn't connect with working class moderates the way Clinton did, and NYC itself would rather support the hard left candidate.

Andrew Cuomo

I feel like he could mobilize the African American voters better, although they are both fairly robotic.

I don't think Democratic Prinary voters are stupid enough to take Warren seriously in the primary. She'd lead us to a landslide defeat.

As opposed to Cuomo, who would totally lead us to a landslide victory in his bid to completely alienate the people who do all of the door knocking for Democratic candidates.

Extremely doubtful that those 2 would be the last men standing, if indeed either are interested. But in that case probably a tossup. The bottom would fall out of liberal enthusiasm if either man was nominated.

I agree that she could only win the general in a 1932 scenario, but I think she will run nonetheless.

I'd give it to Warner, but it's far more likely that there's another liberal in the mix.
