I didn't mean "tribe" quite so literally.   Haitians in the US tend to be the really kick ass performers anecdotally however.

IIRC, immigrants from Africa have the highest socioeconomic level of any ethnic group in America, ahead of both Asian immigrants and native White Americans. Which makes sense. It's not easy to immigrate out of most African countries, so you probably need to already be middle-class/have human capital to do so. It's not all that different from the dynamics with most immigrants from Asia.
