When Palin went rogue she starts talking about Obama palling around with terrorists. When Ryan goes rogue he whips out the PowerPoint!

If that article was supposed to be funny then the author failed miserably.

Sounds like it should it should be an Us Weekly headline

"Drama on the Set of America's Second Favorite Campaign!"
      -Ryan lashes out
      -Romney in tears
-Could Herman Cain be the new replacement?

Is there acid in my tea? Because when I started reading the second page that's what it felt like. What is the author saying? Is the entire article satirical or has the world gone topsy-turvy?

This piece reads like something out of The Onion. I'm familiar with Politico's reputation for lackluster journalism, but there's definitely something strange about it. I mean...

I'm amused that Ryan "unchained" means Powerpoint presentations based on episodes of School House Rock, but the media overplaying Ryan-as-wonk is nothing new.

It is satire. Ryan could not be more committed to the ticket. On October 11, Biden will wish he had retired a few months ago.

Roger Simon can definitely be a bit tongue-in-cheek at times. Still, this is a surprising article. Is the whole thing supposed to be a joke or just parts of it?

If there's actually any truth to that stuff about Ryan repeatedly calling Romney "The Stench"... well... words fail.

The whole "Stench" thing seemed very shocking but not implausible, but the second page was, well, just...

But if that "Stench" thing is true, well... what's the chance Ryan might be replaced?

I think all of us should start calling Stench "Stench" instead of his real name.  You know, have one of those internet memes that are real popular with the kids these days.

If Stench loses, I change my avatar to blue, if Stench wins, you change yours to red. Deal?

Nonexistent. I'm pretty sure it's legally impossible at this point.

Also, the article now includes "this was supposed to be satire" endnote. He's quite right on (most) PowerPoint displays, of course. As the uni joke ca.2000 had it, "did the referent have at least a basic grasp of his topic or did he use PowerPoint?"

Unbelievable how tone deaf the left has become. In particular, I respect Paul Krugman for his work on international trade, but nobody could make the profession of economics look like more of a joke (e.g., his obsession with running around like a crack addict talking about how one more fix of a more potent stimulus is all we need; never mind that all of the stimulus spending in the world does not do much for national economic growth when an administration blows most of it on special interest groups in Washington and state public unions). The best part of Obama's defeat will be seeing Krugman ignored outside of issues specifically dealing with trade. John Taylor, Greg Mankiw and Edward Prescott will put him in his place at long last.

While Gilligan was from Ohio, he was a Democrat.
