Mitt Romney veered off message Tuesday when he told a crowd of supporters in Ohio that President Barack Obama "did not" raise taxes in his first four years in office, undercutting his own line of attack on the president.

This entire campaign so far feels almost too good to be true.

I never seen nothing like it. Someone posted the day that they think Romney is secretly working to get Obama re-elected. I'm starting to believe it.

All Obama has in store for the near future is a tax hike. The plans are already in motion to let the 2001 tax cuts expire for everybody with Obama ready to use the veto pen if necessary. Yes, regardless of whether or not he is re-elected he will blow his political capital on this due to economic constraints. None of you are so naive as to believe we can continue clinging to one trillion dollar deficits for four more years, are you? And it's not like Obama is in favor of cutting spending that benefits his special interests, who are funding his campaign right now as we speak...

Four more years of Obama is four more years of economic malaise. If you enjoyed the past four years, and want more of your income thrown into the coffers of Washington, by all means vote to give Obama four more years...

It's going pretty badly for Romney if he's attacking Obama not for his actual record, but for a hypothetical future record.
