If Romney can't count on NC on Election Night, this thing is over.  He has a 2-4 pt lead in the last 4 polls, with only Rasmussen showing a significant advantage for Romney at this point.

The lead Obama has built seems to be holding strong.

The debates are going to be very interesting, I'm told Romney is an excellent debater... and Obama certainly tends to stumble over his words a bit in that setting.

I don't believe NH will be that close. There hasn't been a reliable poll out of there in quite some time. It would be hard to imagine that Obama's national bounce didn't affect there.

Called it.

Youfolks definitely have reason to be excited, but I think the polls also show that these states are very closely linked to the national popular vote. If there's a swing towards Romney, these states go with the swing (except maybe New Hampshire).

...I've...never heard this idea that Romney is an 'excellent debater' before.

I'd have expected NH and NV to be switched around.

The only time that Romney really performed well, as opposed to 'was left standing' was the Debate when Gingrich was surging. Obama isn't as cocky as Gingrich and hopefully won't walk into the trap he did.

Romney will have one-liners prepared, but Obama's people will know that, so he'll have come-backs prepared.

But Romney could do well from this format and Obama needs to focus on being concise.

This makes Obama the leader in 5 of the last 6 polls in North Carolina

I still think NC tilts to Romney.  Clinton led Dole there until Dole's late surge, which usually happens for the challenger.

However, Obama is on his way to a comfortable electoral college win.  I think it's time to move NH back to "Barely Obama"

I'm not surprised NV isn't polling so well for Obama. Really, with 15% unemployment, Nevada should be a difficult state for Obama

NV is becoming another CA though, which is bad news for the GOP.

I'm just going by conversations I've had with peers about the election.  I obviously never watched his debates when running for Gov. of Mass. and listening to the GOP Primary debates can make a rational person's ears bleed.

Good numbers overall.

But I think NV is fooling us once again like in 2008 and 2010.

It will be closer than in 2008, but probably still around 5-10% for Obama.

Yeah, does anyone really believe NV and NC are going to be equally Democratic? It'd be interesting but I can't see it. NV is ripe for a decent swings towards Romney but I can't see him coming too close to winning it.
