It was a demonstration, not an uprising. There were clashes between the police and some demonstrators that tried to reach to the Congress' gates. Some oposition politicians claim that it was police brutality, others say that the police performance was disproportionate. The government talks about law and order, obviously. The news in english:

If I was Spanish, I'd leave, or revolt. Don't know whjat good revolting would actually do, but it'd at least give me something to do.

On that note, when I was living in Spain it shocked me how many people I knew who were taking German classes or considering doing it (one of them today has posted on his fb that he has got a job in Zurich.... so yeah).

Austerity, still austerity. Bah, humbug. What is needed are targeted reforms that reduce Spain's unit labor costs, plus Germans spending more money on all things, but especially those made in Spain. The whole austerity question is a red herring.

As an Spanish, I'm revolting. When I finish my studies, I may leave.

Oh, and here you have some videos. If this is not police brutality, nothing in the World is:

No, what is needed is to force the labor costs of Germany to increase, in order to reequilibrate the market, to the advantages of the masses, not the elite, as proposed.

Actually what is needed are targeted reforms to increase labor costs in places which have lower labor costs than Spain, or exclude them from the EU market.

No, other measures should be taken to curtain trade with China or force the Chinese standards higher.
