Also makes me wonder of the odds NY Jew takes my advice and begins to follow Jesus Christ. Now that he's been banned he'll probably only be in echo chamber forums sadly.

I would hope he follows my path and exceeds my intelligence. We shall see, I suppose...

Was fezzy ever a libertarian? Jake has moved further right as he's grown older I think, which would be the opposite of fezzy and myself Tongue

Yeah, I feel like we've followed a similar path that has definitively excluded libertarianism. But I certainly had a spoiled brat phase that could easily be a telling prelude to 20whatever's politiccal future. At least I'd hope. Also interestingly, I'd think Philly could be a surprisingly powerful influence on the kid.

Over the past nine years, experience on here has taught me that in all likelyhood he probably will be, probably by the time he's in college and able to vote for the first time or by the time he's taking home pay.

I honestly could see myself shifting left, but not left enough to actually register as a Democrat. I'd be more of a Duke-type Pubby at best Tongue

Remember though that it's the GOP that has shifted; Duke has been fairly constant really. If the GOP continues it's rightwards fight to the bottom I doubt you could stay on board ship.

100%.  Gay marriage isn't on the right-wing agenda.

2/10. He will be a William Weld Republican all his life, as Mikado pointed out.

Yeah, I've been pondering this a lot. I'm very dissatisfied with the direction of the Republican Party. I may register as a Libertarian out of spite, but I do like voting in primaries.

Slim to none.  People tend to become more conservative over the years, not liberal.

At some point he'll get sick of the gay bashing from the right.

It's actually been the opposite with me. As I've grown older, I've gotten more liberal than when I was a young kid. I was actually pro-death penalty and pro-life when I was younger.

Same for me. Kind of. I was much more socially moderate, perhaps center-right when I was younger. As I aged, I made a mad dash towards the left on social issues. Then I transplanted my culture to America and I found out that I was somehow "far-right" on social issues. Or something.

Anyways, I'd put money on 2012RP becoming more staunchly right-wing as he ages - just because his views line up pretty well with what most younger Republicans seem to believe.

When I was in 6th grade, I was staunchly pro-life, pro-war, anti-gay rights, pro-drug war and pro-unabridged 2nd amendment rights. I was also very religious.
