Could Obama actually get 60% in MA this time? It seemed unlikely, but I guess it's becoming more and more possible.

McCain got 36% in 2008. Is it possible that with a national shift away from Obama (he probably isn't going to win by 7%) and being a "favorite son", Romney will still under perform Obama in MA?

Maybe Republicans haven't been under performing in Massachusetts since 2000. Maybe the GOP is just so aligned against the interests of the average Massachusetts resident that scoring less than 40% of the vote is literally the best they can do, even with a favorite son on the ticket.
