This is a very simple idea to keep our region running until we pass a budget; if by November 10 we still do not have a budget, we could pass another. Wink

I am opposed to a stop-gap solution that allows us to cop out of our legislative responsibility. Instead of debating this bill, we should be debating the budget.

Seeing as there is no mechanism to continue government funding after a budget expires (which, I assume it did at the end of the previous session) we are currently running with no budget what so ever.  Also, the Assembly has seen to take little interest in the Budget Committee, seeing as it has taken until today to just choose members.  This simply gives us security to continue the functioning of our region while we pass a budget.

I see no reason not to support this.  We're not shrugging off our responsibility, merely ensuring fiscal stability until such a time that a budget is proposed.

Debate time has expired.  The Assembly will now vote on the final text.  This vote will last 24 hours, or until all Representatives have voted.

Ahem. Grin

My apologies Barnes.  I find myself off my game this week.  Hopefully the extra hour of sleep tonight will fix that Smiley

Would I sign this bill, or not because it's a resolution?

I'd suggest signing it, just to be on the safe side.
