Louise Slaughter - my friend's grandmother, by the way - came to our school for an assembly.

I saw Tim Minchin in concert once.

I saw Obama's motorcade once.

I have a good friend who has topped the Australian music charts, and has had 7.5 million hits on YouTube for an official video of her in concert. She's introduced me to some of her famous friends, too. That's the most impressive I can do, but I've met quite a few well-known political figures. Was introduced, with four or five others, to a foreign president earlier this year, but that was very brief and probably doesn't count. All the other politicians have been Australian, I think.

I've met plenty of Minnesota political figures (Mark Dayton, Keith Ellison, Amy Klobuchar, RT Rybak...) at rallies and all and also met Al Franken at such rallies and outside of them. Franken was actually in the theater when I was Milk.

I met Mary Landrieu and Kay Hagan last summer. During the summer of 2008, Hillary Clinton's limo was next to my car at a stoplight in New Orleans and I caught a quick glimpse of her.

I've seen My Chemical Romance, Third Eye Blind and Queen in concert, along with a plethora of bands at Warped Tour.

I've met Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and New Found Glory. I shook John McCain's hand at a rally in 08. I've met some low-level athletes as well.

Lots. I've opened for Jim Gaffigan and Billy Gardell. I could actually count Billy among people whom I'm friendly with. I've met Joe Montana (didn't care for him). I've met Jerome Bettis and most of the current Steelers roster. I sat across from Franco Harris on a train once. Also, for you wrestling fans out there, I used to work for the IWC promotion in Pittsburgh. I've met and worked with Jerry Lawler, CM Punk (before he hit it big), Vince McMahon (just met in that instance)...

I spoke with Al Gore briefly while he was running for President as student editor of my school paper and President of my class. I've met Arlen Specter and Ed Rendell briefly. Christian Bale, Chris Nolan, Seth Rogen (Who I got along with splendidly), Elizabeth Banks, Kevin Smith and the entire cast and crew of Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

I've had a brief conversation will Prince Charles.

I've also seen Bill Clinton speak. I was about four feet away from Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). Other than that, I can't really think of anyone.

I've met Canadian politicians like Dalton McGuinty, Jim Flaherty, Peter Van Loan, and John Baird, and Stephane Dion, but I'm not really sure if they count.

In the sense of who would interest this forum, pretty much any Irish politician you can name at this point - I think I've told the story of the time I came home to find Bertie Ahern in my house before Sad - and "met" Hillary Clinton when she came into a coffee shop I was in when she was in Ireland a couple of years ago. I met Paul Krugman a few years ago too.

I saw Mitt Romney at two rallies, one during the '08 campaign, and one this year.  I also saw Rick Snyder at the second one, and I went to a Huckabee rally during the '08 campaign as well.  Never got to meet any of them, but it was nice.  When Dick DeVos ran for governor of Michigan, I met him briefly as well.

It is kind of when you don't get star struck, because I've been doing it since I was 16 lol.

Also, I agree, both of them are hilarious.

The political list is large, but at the top I've spoken with Pres Obama (as a state senator) and been photographed by Reuters shaking hands with Pres GW Bush (as president).

Hollywood types include conversations with Bo Derek and Barry Bostwick within the last few years.

Only some Quebec and Canadian politician.
The more known are probably the Canadian opposition leader and the Quebec vice-Prime Minister (and more than once, in his case).

I met Sophie Aldred (famous as Ace in Doctor Who) a year ago.  Of course, that would only be famous to Who fans... I am going to get to meet Colin Baker this coming year!

Do Georgia politicians count as "famous"?  Probably not...
The Lieutenant Governor, Casey Cagle
The Speaker of the House, David Ralston
My State Rep. and State Sen.
Jimmy Carter's grandson, State Sen. Jason Carter
