This man is the living embodiment of what is wrong with the modern Republican Party. He served on the House Science committee. People like him need to be kicked out of office, again and again, until the Republican leadership AND electorate come to their senses.

How many members of Congress in safe seats are just like this but aren't called out until they run for statewide office in years unfavorable to their party?

If Akin were running in 2010, he'd have easily won election to the Senate, these comments notwithstanding.

I donated to McCaskill's campaign earlier this year (which will likely be a better bet than the money I gave Jon Huntsman). Do I give her more? I'm on the fence about whether she'll basically have this in the bag or not.

He is arguably the most idiotic and ill-informed Senate candidate I ever saw. He and Rick Santorum would have got along extremely well if he was in the Senate several years ago.

He is doing everything he can to lose what would otherwise be a pretty certain Republican gain.  Wish they'd nominated somebody like Sarah Steelman instead.  One of the few times I supported the same candidate Sarah Palin did.l
