Today the RCP average is Obama 49.1 to Romney 46.0 giving you Obama +3.1. The VP debate is in 8 days on October 11. What do you think the average will be on that day?

For comparison on the day of the first Bush/Kerry debate in 2004 it was Bush 49.2/Kerry 43.8 (Bush +5.4). By the VP debate on Oct 5 it was Bush 47.7/Kerry 45.9 (Bush +1.8 ). So Kerry got a 3.6% bump.  (via RCP)

O+2 or O+3.  Romney marginally won the debate, but the main effect will be to halt his slow decline and give him a chance to regroup.  I don't think he'll manage it tho.
