I'm reviving this thread for continuity's sake.

I hate populist pandering like the below. It doesn't get anyone interested and just serves to annoy existing people with an interest in classical music.

But let's talk about Walton otherwise. Do you like Walton? I quite like his 1st Symphony. It's up there with Shostakovich's 7th. I'd say I feel like his later works (especially No. 9) come of as a bit movie-scorish, but I feel Walton is guilty of the same offense.
