But you cannot/will not be allowed moderate any more Presidential debates. You've done a great service but you are, how do i say this politely, too old for this gig.

I thought he did a good job.  He did exactly what he was supposed to do - get the candidates talking.

I am sure he would've done a much better job of holding both candidates accountable.

Honestly, the candidates were talking, alright, but what was missing was the tough questions. The Warren v Brown debate in Massachusetts was much better than this.

He would have been better off letting Romney and Obama go as long as they wanted on the first question.

He had to deal with two alpha males, neither of whom was willing to let the other have the last word if they had anything to say about it.

Thank God Romney won the final coin toss.

I suspect it was Lehrer's last time at the moderator desk. He did struggle a bit.

He was a disaster. Really, really terrible. It was like he hadn't prepared at all.

Are you referring to Obama or Lehrer?

Yeah, he shouldn't moderate in 2016.

Democrats blaming Lehrer for Obama sucking would be like Politico blaming Jon Huntsman for Mitt Romney losing.

Did someone just seriously suggest that Fluffy should moderate a presidential debate?

Am I the only one who didn't mind the candidates leading the debate for once? There was more lengthy policy discussion and back and forth than the usual rapid fire two minute Q&A sound bytes with some journalist no one cares about eating up a bunch of time instead of letting the two candidates, ya know, debate.

I wasn't that off put by it, but the fact that one could just get extra time if one wanted it etc. is not good moderating

Agreed. Obama got 4 extra minutes in the overall total and the more he spoke, the more  embarrassing his uninspiring and listless performance got. I wish Jim kept him under control.

No.  As I've said numerous times, I thought he did a good job.

He did a decent job in '04 but yeah, he clearly looked out of his element this time. He is 78.

That's usually not a problem, but I guess there was this.
