Bob Corker seems good on paper.
Not after what he did to Harold Ford in 2006, though he hasn't been that bad of a Senator.

I wouldn't touch the Carnival cruise ships with a 10 foot pole.  Too many things have gone wrong in the last ~6 months for me to even consider it anymore.

I think Bob Corker would have less of a chance though, because Mitt Romney had gigantic resources and a previous presidential run.

Senator John Hoeven would be a good choice. A popular former governor, not so radical and has some knowledge of business and economic management. In 2012 field, he would be a good option to defeat Romney.
