So I just came back from homecoming...(attention whoring thread)

The last two years I went were pretty crappy for reasons I won't get into, but this one was pretty fun. I spent some time helping out my Model UN team sell concessions to raise money, watched Star Wars (it was a space/alien theme), and danced with friends. But you don't care about that, do you?

Well, in either an attempt to clear the room a bit early or just because they ran out of mist, some of the crew started pouring smoke into the gym. After a few minutes, this set off the smoke detectors, which set off the fire alarms. It took several minutes for half the people to notice due to the music and flashing lights flashing out the lights and sound of the fire alarm, but eventually everyone was shuffled out. What a way to end it.

Ours ended similarly with a peculiar end. Kids came to the dance drunk and then the police came and searched a bunch of people's cars since alcohol was in many more cars in plain sight. A lot of kids got MIP, some kids tried to run...even after the teachers knew who they were so congrats on just getting a worser fate. And of course their suspension started the day of the count for federal funding. My senior class is the most hated and stupidest class ever, we took a 1 point dip in ACT scores when there is usually a .1-.2 fluctuation, generally upwards, over the last decade.

I feel lucky. The only bad fate I suffered was some girl saying "I don't like to dance". Her friend claims that's true (riiiiiiiiiiight). Luckily no arrests or anything like that. The hated class in my school was the one right before ours.

Ours was last week...I personally enjoyed it, but one of my best mates was rejected by a girl he's had a crush on for, like, several years, so that sort of ruined it. Nobody's actually came to a dance drunk since I left middle school, where it happened twice

Apparently back in '07 some kids were caught with heroin at the spring dance at my high school, though, but I wasn't around back then.

Obviously a bunch of people, but I'm no repressed white Christian. I did, however, dance to Gangnam Style. Unusually for an Atlasian, I actually danced with females (shocking, right?).
