I thought this race would be a toss-up right up till election day.

If you had to some up a reason why this is no-longer a tossup what is it?

Kaine in the debate is hammering Allen on his record in Washington of going in as senator with a surplus and leaving in debt.

My theory is that Allen's numbers were artificially inflated throughout the summer and early fall because the Super PACs were spending heavily in the state with no response from Kaine. Once Kaine and the Democrats went up on the air in September, he took the lead.
