Props to Tender for finding this.

Report.

Hochul (D)- 47%
Collins (R)- 47%

Obama- 41%
Romney- 52%

Hochul was trailing by 2 in their last poll, IIRC.

I think we'll do very well in the states that have been fairly redistricted (California, New York, Florida, Arizona, etc.). It's the states with vicious, anti-democratic Republican gerrymanders that will keep the American people from having the Democrats in control of the House again, as they want.

As someone who lived in Erie county until about a year ago, and is still a registered voter there, Chris Collins wasn't a bad county executive, and he didn't face a very strong challenger in his reelection bid.  The reason he lost was based almost entirely on the fact that a majority of people didn't like his combative and arrogant style of governing. On the same token, Hochul's tenure as County Clerk was extremely successful and helped her build bipartisan approval in Western New York, which (along with the Paul Ryan attack adds) helped her pull of the upset in 2011. In the end I have no idea who will win, but this clearly seems to be a race of partisan affiliation and national issues (Collins) verses personal likability and local issues (Hochul).
