My mum told me today that she has a brain tumour. She'd been loosing her hearing on one side over the other for a while now and a scan confirmed that she has a tumour which is pressing against the nerve. It's hopefully benign and is operable. She's going for the operation to be safe rather than sorry. If it continued to grow it would make her deaf on one side or give her palsy so she's taking the risk in getting it removed so that it won't worry her, particularly if it becomes dangerous. There are risks sadly but she's a strong woman.

Sounds as if your life has been a bit of a roller coaster recently. I hope the operation goes well and she gets better as soon as possible.

I wish your Mum luck.  This is one thing all of us have to face eventually, and even knowing that, when it happens it still hurts - a lot. There is no escape. Good luck to you too in coping with this. It sounds like she has a reasonable chance of dodging the bullet this time.

Very best wishes for your mother, you and your family.  Based on what you posted, I'm quite hopeful.  Brain surgeons nowadays can be truly phenomenal, and if the tumor is benign, she'll be ok.  All best.
