http://news.yahoo.com/video/romneys-english-roots-surprise-cousins-123517689.html

Romney campaign's response: "No comment."

Kind of reminds me of when someone went to the Italian village Rick Santorum's family emigrated from and found out that his family were card-carrying communists back then.

The son-in-law looked kind of chav and they were living in what might be a council estate. Clearly Mitt Romney could never acknowledge blood ties with members of the 47%.

Romney also has some closer foreign relatives, living in a Mormon settlement in Mexico: http://www.npr.org/2012/01/22/145574014/mexican-cousins-keep-romneys-family-tree-rooted

There is a resemblance, and it is a slightly closer relationship than mine to Fife Symington.  Smiley

The Mexican Romneys are actually pretty awesome; they hate the drug war and still fight against the cartels more effectively than most parts of Mexico.

Kind of a stretch to call the English inconvenient.  The Mexican Romneys are great people who live 'a little south of El Paso', that's probably a net positive.

Barrow? In a way it's appropriate: the town's economy is basically entirely dependent on building nuclear submarines.

Could somebody (e.g. Al) kindly translate this video for us?

The old woman says that she was surprised to find out she's related to someone running for President of the United States. She says that he looks a bit like how her brother used to look, before her brother started to look old. The young woman says that she was surprised to be related to someone running for President of the United States. The old woman says that she intends to follow the election now and hopes that cousin Romney wins.

"I think that if Mitt wins this president of the United States it's because God wants him there," Miles says. "I think the U.S. is gonna fall to pieces and I don't think the Lord's work is done yet on this earth. And if he makes it in there it's because God wants him in there."

Is this evidence of the White Horse Prophecy's existence?

evidence? no. The individual guy living in a war zone in Mexico might be familiar with it and buy into some/all of it.

*Interesting that There are now more Mormon members of the U.S. Congress than Episcopalians.

Evidence that many Latter-Day-Saints believe in the existence of the White Horse Prophecy, probably. Evidence that it exists as credible theological concept in the eyes of LDS theologians, no. Out of all the prophets since the prophecy was written down (50 years since it was supposedly given), about half have basically said "yeah it's crap" while most of the other ones have declined to give an answer about it. It's a layperson and low-level leadership thing, probably not a belief shared by the highest echelons of the LDS Church.

She'd have to be. She was a whore who married into the highest echelons of the Aristocracy.

And yes, she's hot. Smiley
