Yes, how dare a company whose product is associated with the working class make allusions to movements that helped protect the working class.

Clearly the solution is to sell jeans that working class people can't afford to buy.

I applaud Glenn Beck for somehow managing to maneuver past our Marxist government and start a textile business in the United States.  How many jobs did he create?

This makes it sound like he's just making every single pair, by himself, in his garage or something

Those are actually pretty nice looking jeans. Though for $130, I'd expect them to be selvage.

The fact that revolution upset him seems so... reactionary. Say, how did this country come about again? :that skeptical/patronizing smiley which I don't know the code for:

Say what you like about Beck, but he is a quite good entrepreneur who knows his market well. Not that I necessarily consider that to be a good thing.

Who the hell spends that much money for a pair of jeans? You can get the exact same thing at Target for $20.

Even less if you go to a good thrift store; I work at one where nearly brand-new jeans (donated even though they were barely used) are about $5-7.

This denim line is just more proof that Beck is a huckster.

The same kind of people who spend way too much on any other kind of fashion - pretentious people.

What makes these blue jean dungarees the sartorial realization of 'Americanism'?  Are they only sold with 46 inches or more in the waist?

Reminds me of something. My mom still insists on buying me clothes, despite being 28, I'm guessing that once you've bought clothes for someone their entire life it's kind of hard to quit. So when I saw her last week she insisted on getting me more jeans since a lot of mine are getting worn and holey (this is true). So we went to some fancy store in the mall where she wanted to buy a lot of other things, and she got me some jeans on a buy one get one free deal...except they cost $44, so the overall cost was about the same as Target. Of course I wasn't paying so I had no reason to point this out.

Another thing she always did was insist on getting clothes and shoes for me and my brothers when we were visiting Minnesota because clothes are exempt from sales tax in Minnesota unlike North Dakota. What she obviously didn't take into account is that the savings, if any are negligible since the entire cost of living here is far more than in ND. I suppose if it was a department store in St. Cloud or Alexandria she'd have a point...
