Colin Powell walked down the streets of Detroit. The city was a hellish nightmare, devoid of any civilization or stability.
That was in 2012. Now, in 2014, Detroit was in ruins and the populace was gone. Colin Powell smiled sadly. Gone were the days when Ma would put her apple pie in the window sill, letting the apple-scented aroma fill the neighborhood. Gone were the days when you could go to the park and Pa would be tossing the pigskin around with his energetic son.
Powell kicked an empty Folgers can down the street. What the hell happened to the country he once loved? Powell looked to his right and saw an abandoned park with a burned doll resting on a broken wing-set. A tear went down the side of his face. He remembered his days as a Republican superstar.
In early 2013, the Republican Party was officially disbanded. It became clear there was no future for it because the demographics simply weren't there. Following the disbanding, America became a one-party country ruled by the Democrats. Barack Obama immediately amended the Constitution to make him "emperor" for life.
There was nothing that could be done to stop this. Following the power-grab, The Opposition was formed. The Opposition was an interesting group because it was really devoid of any core philosophy. They only wanted to take Emperor Obama down. The Opposition was a group that was formed from the tattered remains of the Republican Party as well as ultra-leftist revolutionaries who were unhappy Emperor Obama's plot.
A lot more had happened in this past year. So many lives lost, so much destruction. Millions had no power, food, housing or Atlas Forum. The only thing America had to look forward to was the 2014 midterms which were due to come up very shortly.
"You're a long way from home!" came a shout nearby.
Colin Powell sighed. They had finally found him.
"You're under arrest for treason against Barack Obama" yelled the Obama thug
"I trust this will be a fair trial?" inquired Colin Powell
"Hehehehehe. Of course!" came the sneering response
Colin Powell smiled and reached into his pocket and felt for a grenade he kept there.
The group of thugs approached Colin Powell.
"I see" he said as he pulled the pin.
