I've often heard Obama supporters call Romney supporters white "racists"

There certainly is a distinct racial difference in lifestyle between Romney and Obama.

George W Bush at least came from a hispanic influenced state and promoted many African Americans and Latinos to prominent positions.

On the other hand, Romney is from a predominantly white state of Massachusetts, and has lived in Boston for his adult life, which is a city that has had poor race relations between the dominant white Irish population and the Black population.  The most notorious Boston race riots came during forced school busing and the integration of public schools.

Romney is also part of a mostly white religion, that has many conservative values to the right of the Catholic church and the Evangelical movement.  The Mormon church also outlawed any Black members until recently.

The mainstream media and most of Hollywood find Romney unacceptable to a multi-cultural America.

Do you think Romney's "Whiteness" is a big issue for the 2012 election?

Does anyone know what race Deval Patrick,  the governor of Massachusetts  is?

Milhouse has gotta open up another button on the ol' jeans. His pasty white, gelatinous frame has gotten too large from everyone feeding the troll. We have enough fat trolls I think.

In this election, for the first time in history, neither major party has nominated a WASP.  This is the least WASPish election ever.

Mormons are the WASPs of the West. While not generally considered to be WASPs, Mormonism is technically a branch of Protestant Christianity.

There's also the small matter of the class aspect of "WASP"...

True enough. Romney looks and acts more like a prototypical WASP than many actual WASPs do.

Black leadership. You couldn't get the priesthood, but you could be a member. Also, there was the family of Elijah Abel, who generationally, were given the priesthood anyway before the ban. Probably because Elijah Abel himself was one of the first (and only) black men ordained by Joseph Smith, who very pointedly did not introduce the ban. Brigham Young  was the one responsible for the ban (partially because there was a black elder claiming that he, not Brigham, had prophetic and transfigurative talents, and plural married himself a lot of white women).

Brigham Young was a huge racist (beyond the norm for the time), and for decades was considered second only to Joseph Smith as a prophet, so you can see why the prophets after him were/are wary of saying "yeah no, he was speaking as a man, not a prophet".

Side note; Ezra Taft Benson a later apostle and prophet, called Civil Rights "a Communist plot" and was extraordinary racist and anti-Communist, so much so that the other apostles called him out repeatedly on it, and denounced his brand of politics. He stopped talking politics once he became prophet, but the damage was already done. Unfortunately, he's remained popular with the Glenn Beck-esque crowd.

Non-whites cannot tell the difference between different white religions and white culture.
White people think all Black people look the same and act the same.
Races are always ignorant of the other races and stereotype.  That is just life.

Ah, I go to a predominantly black church, with a black clergyman, and have since 1999.  Ah, no.
