That will obviously be the "tone" state of the night and while I doubt it's called very early (as VA tends to count slowly), it should give us an indication of where we're going.  I thought it was just about over in the Old Dominion, but now Romney has new life.  What do you think and feel free to comment as to why.

Sadly, I think Romney will win it by 1-2.

I still think Obama can pull it out.  Recent polls have been a mix and RCP still has Obama with an average 0.4 lead.  This depends on good debate performances ensuring Romney's momentum is halted though, so my mind might change on this by next week.

As of now, Obama.  It could be a completely different story by next week, though.

If the election was held today, I think Obama but just barely.

The election will not be held today, and things are moving in Romney's direction.

Ask me again tomorrow Smiley

I am undecided as to if  the Quinnipiac (Obama +5) or the WeAskAmerica (Romney +3) poll is a bigger disaster internally.... it's another close call...

If the election was today, my gut says Obama, even though I'd put the odds at 50/50. It would be the closest state.

On November 6th, I think we'll be in a position to predict a Romney win in Virginia with some degree of confidence.

If the election were held today, Obama.

It is drifting toward Romney and that is how it will go on election day.

Virginia is a bluer state than it was 4 years ago so I still think Obama will win it, unless he tanks again in the next debates.

I'm always surprised to see people arguing that the election is "drifting" in one way or another. The election isn't like an air hockey puck that continues to drift in whatever way it's nudged. I think momentum is an incredibly overrated concept in politics, especially at the presidential level.

I also disagree with the conventional wisdom here: I think Romney would probably narrowly win if the election were held today, while I give Obama the slightest of advantages for Election Day.

I could see Romney winning the white vote 63-37, enough to make it close but probably will fall just short. A 50-49 Obama victory involves large margins in Fairfax, Prince William and a win in Loundon along with wins in Henrico and the college towns like Charlottesville.

So, you're tired of America?  Maybe you should follow elections in Japan or somewhere.

Just so you know, Japan is racist. I also understand Racism is in politics, but Obama's not gonna win/lose Virginia because of it. I think most republicans don't hate Obama because he's black, but that's because I'm reasonable. Please stop posting stuff like this, Opebo. It's naive.

Well, I don't agree that we hate him.  I disagree with a lot of his economic policies.  I've been supportive of some of his military/foreign policy.

they hated Clinton with the same passion -- since Reagan, they have not accepted the legitimacy of a non-Republican president.
