7% in their tracking sample say they have already voted.

59-31 Obama

MoE of course is +/- 10% ...

Well the margin of error is high but damn that GOTV effort will probably win Obama reelection.

Glad you posted that -it is something to bear in mind for those Democrats who were on the brink of throwing yourselves out the window in utter despair...  Tongue

According to Pew, Obama won early voters 53-34.

Probably declined to answer.

On the absentee applications there has been a trend for Democrats to file early, but the Republicans to catch up and, so far, pass their 2008 levels.  That happened in NC (though the D's are closing again) and in IA.

When did the early voting start?  If it was before the 1st Debate, then the voters had already written off Romney, and never saw him speak.

It probably wouldn't have made a difference for those Obama voters, but I can image a few of them wanting to change their minds after seeing the first debate.

If we didn't have debates, then elections would just be based on Commercials and the Conventions.  As a voter, I would think other voters would want more information before making a final decision.  It kinda defeats the purpose of a democracy, otherwise we can just have Ward bosses make the votes for us.
