Inspire by Snowstalker's topic.  What do you think?  My four-year old cousin suggested I dress up as a mouse, maybe because I'm so tall and it would be funny.  What do you think?

Dress up as a Democrat and go to a black neighborhood. Then see how many people shout at you because of slavery.

Which Democrat?  Clement Vallandigham (the Congressman in the cartoon I recently added to my signature), Stephen Douglas, John Breckenridge, or anybody else from that era in the Democratic Hall of Shame?

Someone from some time more recent than the 1800s.

John Breckinridge was definitely the scariest-looking of those people.  Go with him.

Also, I think you missed the joke.

John C. Calhoun in his later years looked nuts. Go as him.

You should create an abstract, high concept costume, like Mickey Kaus does:

Maybe you should go as an electoral college tie.  Buy an Obama mask and a Romney mask, and cut them in half, and tape them back to together or something, so that half your face is Obama and half Romney.

Or else go as the fiscal cliff or as a binder full of women or something.

You should go as Krispy Kreme and then you may stand some chance of owning a bunch of mice.
