"No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for."

Clearly referred to the incident as a terrorist act.  It is indisputable that Romney was wrong and his zinger backfired, and it probably clinched Obama's reelection.

No, it's not. He lied about what the President said in the Rose Garden, plain and simple.

He called it an act of terror on Sept. 12th.

lol, he was referring to 911, read the transcript, he wouldn't confirm it was an act of terror on the View.  Took 14 days, but go ahead and believe him none of the other lies have stopped you.

No, she didn't. She just said that that she understood the broader point that Romney was trying make but he tripped himself up by saying Obama didn't say something that he clearly did.

In a completely non-political sense, it is just fascinating to me how Republicans live in a completely different reality than everyone else.

Actually, (1) Mike Allen says it's 'arguable', he isn't agreeing with anyone, he's mostly pointing out an interpretation from a blog post on Commentary, a conservative website, which argued that Obama could be referring to 911. However, Foreign Policy Magazine has an in-depth analysis of this and they back up Obama:

http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2012/10/16/obama_did_call_benghazi_attack_an_act_of_terror_in_colorado

Also, the transcript seems pretty clear to me:

"As Americans, let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases, lay down their lives for it.  Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe.

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.  Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America.  We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act.  And make no mistake, justice will be done."

He's clearly talking about Benghazi before and after. The entire speech, in fact, is about Benghazi.

She did nothing of the sort. What Romney attacked Obama for was wrong. What Crowley said there was that she understood the broader point Romney was trying to make, but Romney completely bungled what he was trying to go after Obama for and attacked him on the wrong thing.

He called for justice to be done for the Benghazi attack in his next paragraph.

Actually, he said that "acts of terror" would not stand, and Crowley is backing away from her confirmation.  Sad

Yes, in direct reference to the embassy attack.

Republicans are desperately trying to latch on to that he was mentioning that it was on the annivsary of 9/11/01. They'll just keep digging themselves deeper into the hole rather than admit that Romney busted hardcore for pants on fire lying.

Facts don't matter to Republicans. I am still waiting for them to find those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Romney lied, yet it is Candy Crowley's fault, that makes a lot of sense. I don't think conservatives realize how disconnected from reality their logic is.

Playing semantics doesn't change the fact that Romney lied and got caught.

I'm sorry,  but this is total rubbish...

Obama DID say it was an act of terror, I know, because I watched the press conference live. Obama didn't know it was an organised cell ...

I'll say this once... if you're trying to make Crowley the story... then it's the biggest concession I can think of.
