Things I learned from World War Z:

1. Singing will cause the Palestinians to invade Israel.
2. Never call your husband while he's at work.
3. Never call mother nature a bitch.
4. The North Koreans are winning.
5. If you're having trouble picking your poison, get Brad Pitt to do it.

Not 'last movie' I saw, but I really recommend watching Después de Lucía, Mexico's 2012 foreign film Oscar candidate. I really liked it overall.

I finally got to see Lincoln! Cheesy

I had very high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed at all. Clearly the best movie of the year, and possibly the best in quite a few years.

James Franco gave a great performance, but pool sex isn't enough to save really lame attempts at being deep.

I can't remember the last time I liked a movie as much as I liked Spring Breakers.

Lone Ranger, despite what critics said, I loved it.

I have to agree with King here. I found Spring Breakers horrible, though I can understand why some would like it.

The Lone Ranger

Solidly beat my low expectations for it. It definitely has some issues but I enjoyed it overall. It's a weird movie.

VHS 2

Unlike the first one, this is mostly just based around one of the segments, the third one, which is very well made though hard to follow and doesn't end when it should. The second is also more of an Evil Dead sequel-style comedy than a horror film. However the frame story worked better and it flowed well than in the first one. I still say the first one is vastly superior, but I could see people thinking the main segment in this one as far superior to all the ones in the first one.

Star Trek into darkness.

I'd say good but not great. It was pretty entertaining, but I didn't find the plot to be particularly well-developed. Also, I've seen very little of Star Trek before (only the movies First Contact and Voyager), so I can't really judge.

The ABCs of Death

It's obvious with any movie that consists of 26 shorts some will be better than others. The problem is most weren't very good, and most focused more on being particularly shocking or vulgar rather than scary or effective. Only one (D is for Dogfight) was notably well produced and filmed and stood out. A couple others succeeded on being darkly comic (like N is for Nupitals) or had interesting twists that were often disturbing (S is for Speed and P is for Pressure), but overall it's hard to get through because so much is just not good. The Japanese ones in particular were notably ridiculous.

Spirited Away

One of my co-workers lent it to me because of my not seeing any anime except the stuff on Adult Swim and Pokemon. It was definitely a very well done film.
