The office of Ben Kenobi has two announcements to make.

One-

I have decided to support the amended dog bill.

Two - I am issuing a official condemnation towards Bacon King, for attempting to disenfranchise 11 IDS citizens in the last election.

Probably the funniest thing about this whole saga is, despite Ben Kenobi's idea that he, and he alone represents texas, in his last election, the actual residents of texas voted for evil socialist laborite Adam Griffin over him.

Yes, you also have to realize that he has not held any sort of comfirmation of the other Texans, his definition of Texas is himself, and he thinks that everyone in Texas is just a clone of him who agrees with everything he says.

Also I hit show comment so many times in this thread

Yep. I prefer what Americans call soccer and in the rest of the world is called football. How is it called in Atlasia? Thanks for the invitation, btw. We, the southerners, know how to be courteous, in spite of our differences Wink

techically then either we call is soccer of soccer as a term doesn't exist

I've decided to rewrite Brase's sig. I believe he shall find it somewhat improved. :b:

Oh Hark! Another fallacy!
Demand can't grow economy?!
We produce, so that we can buy;
Demand's enabled by supply.
If we seek greater consumption,
Then we must increase production.
Our Productivity increase
Drives Poverty's direct decrease.
The Law of Markets tells us why:
"All Growth is driven by supply."

All growth is driven by supply doesn't quite make sense, as countries have been prosperous as middle men. Also productivity up means poverty down only if there are rules saying so. Look at Africa under colonial rule (yes that example is used again, but its true!).

Mercantalism is far different from Adam Smith's principles, and actually works contrary to them.
Yes, and I do opose Mecantalism, but when you say "all" or make broad generalizations, make sure there are no exceptions. Also you didn't address my second point.

Finally I don't always agree with Adam Smith. This one passage "By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it"
I disagree with.

"Radio Ad in the Austin TX Area"

Once upon a time there was a fox called seatown. Now seatown was hot and thirsty and saw some luscious grapes on the vine, just out of seatowns reach. No matter how far he jumped, he could not reach the grapes.

Finally, he got tired of reaching for the grapes, and slinked off saying "Aw, I bet those grapes were sour anyways."

Then he takes a chainsaw to cut down the grapes, but the Chainsaw runs out of gas.

So he tries again to dig under the roots of the grapes. And fails at that too.

Now, a farmer named Velasco comes around and goes to seatown, why don't I pluck the grapes off for you so that you don't need to reach for them?

Don't let seatown get the grapes!

Vote Ben Kenobi, the true texas titan. Smiley

... is this your idea of an attack ad, its completly meaningless besides alerting viewers that Texas has grapes (and for the less intelligent foxes).

Ben Kenobi is also quoting the famous Aesop's fable entitled The Fox and the Grapes. According with the Latin version of Phaedrus:

La Fontaine's version adds some ambiguous sexual connotations:

Regardless of the meaning that Ben Kenobi has wanted to give to this fable, I'm grateful for the efforts for raising the tone of this campaign with these so educated references. I'm certainly impressed. Wink
alright, but it has a different tone and message, plus why would someone say Finally, he got tired of reaching for the grapes, and slinked off saying "Aw, I bet those grapes were sour anyways."

Then he takes a chainsaw to cut down the grapes, but the Chainsaw runs out of gas.

So he tries again to dig under the roots of the grapes. And fails at that too."

I mean that doesn't follow any logic.

Do you want to continue our debate from Velcasos' thread, I personally doubt we will change opinion, but its your choice.
