Impossible to do. I mean, he's obviously not the Great Satan certain lefties would have you believe, but I can't even recall the last time we saw the man and not the opportunistic politician.

Anyone giving him a 0 or 1 is just plain bigoted. Mitt Romney contributes a lot to the community and his church (even if you're an atheist who believes organized religion is the evil of all mankind). He's had a very generous past (the private man, not the public politician) that didn't start simply because he started running for offices.

9, and I'd give Obama an 8 or a 9.

I don't think any one here knows him personally.

4.  He's the son of a rich family... that brings with it some awful attributes, many of which are no fault of his own.  I would give him a 5, but his decision to make a career at Bain, an enterprise which contributes virtually nothing substantive to society, costs him a point, even if it's completely within his prerogative if that's what he would like to do.

At the same time, he doesn't seem like any kind of monster.  Maybe that kid at his boarding school might think differently, but that's speculation.

He was also indoctrinated into Mormonism, which certainly brings with it some personality traits might seem foreign to me.

7, but really a 5-6. I'm feeling generous.

The dog story alone is enough for me to write him off as a person.

Oh, good point. BUT it was a long time ago.

Only pulling back to a 3.

Certainly the organized religion that is Mormonism is an evil to gay and lesbian Americans and their friends and families who want marriage equality in this country. And Romney's financial contributions to the church are essentially just donations to this political campaign against equality.

That's a bit like complaining that Catholics won't let Lutherans become priests.  Does the church take any action against gay non-Mormons?

Yes, because eating meat you're given by your parents as a young child is really comparable to strapping a domesticated dog to the top of your car for 12 hours while it craps and pisses all over itself.

I don't consider Obama a good person either but that has a lot more to do with his warmongering than anything else.

Romney gets an 8 for being a pious, generous family man that's been married to his wife for decades. He loses 3 for being a flip flopping opportunist. So a 5

I've never met him so I gave my best guess?  I don't like judging people.  And realistically, agree with him or not, I don't think he's as evil as those of us the left likes to think of him - disconnected with the average person, yeah, but I don't get the impression he's "evil".  I'd prefer to use the phrase "unfortunately misguided".
