1. The Liberal Democrats...Make up your ruddy minds! Are you left or right.

2. 'Respect' and the SSP

3. The overuse of 'fascist/racist/xenophobe/islamophobe' tag. One or more of these terms is used by the media and politicians alike to stifle genuine debate about asylum and race issues. I want to clamp down on asylum seekers, but i'm not a racist. Islamic fundamentalists in the UK preaching against Jews, women, homosexuals and the West annoy the hell out of me. Yet if I was to critically attack them for doing so it would be me that would be villified. That would be followed by some windbag imam putting a price on my head.

4. 'Winterval', 'Festivus' etc....jeez we're 80% Christian. December 25th is CHRISTMAS DAY!

5. The UKIP

The UKIP is pretty cool. Probably the best party on the UK.

UKIP - In coalition with the Polish Family League in the EU Parliament. The Polish Family League have some anti-Semetic credentials. Think of that what you will.

Polish Family League??

It's just as well: I have friends stationed in Germany, and the last time he visited Poland (for some reason he never told me), he saw lines of  20 somethings waiting outside a Catholic church to hear a 'sermon' against homosexuality. I never knew Poland was becoming so fundamentalist.

I think that since Labour has now moved towards the centre, the Lib Dems are taking advantage of the new void in the left.  That's not to say they weren't moderately left to begin with, but now they're beginning to highlight the leftist policies and drift in that general direction.  The exodus of Labour's anti-war anti-tuition fees voters to the Lib Dems is a big reason for this.

Slashing social programmes is *such* a left wing thing to do isn't it...

I hope social programmes are slashed- Labour has pumped money in but they never seem to be working. Its the £12bn incapacity benefits bill that scares the hell out of me though!

I thought the cost of incapacity benefit ran closer to £7billion

Not true. They've done a lot of good (especially the New Deal. Which both the Tories and LibDems want scrapped)

In many of your posts you have (it appears) quite willingly stereotyped an entire religious/ethnic group as religious extremists/terrorists/murderers/bigots, which is, by definition, a racist thing to do. Now obviously I wouldn't put you up there with the Nick Griffins of this country, but your generalisation of Islam as being this great big evil which is about to consume the entire country is simply ridiculous. It's not attacking the fundamentalists that gets you villified, it's attacking the entire religion that does, which is what you appear to be doing.

Don't get me wrong, a sober debate regarding Islamic fundamentalism, which I would be the first to admit is a problem, is always welcome. But your sweeping generalisations and nigh on-hysteria only add more fuel to an already ill-tempered national debate. Parroting the tabloid press by scapegoating asylum seekers is equally unwarranted.

Are you talking about their name, or their politics? My yankee self can possibly see both, especially using the euro definition of Liberal.

Don't even ask about how Canadians had the "Progressive Conservatives"!

I didn't say the Lib Dems are the new socialist party.  We all know how much of a failure that would be these days.  Realistically, if a social programme isn't working and yet is costing a fortune in taxes, it ought to be scrapped.

But the social programmes are working (I know from personal experiance).

I don't necessarily believe I have 'villified' Islam. They are quite capable of doing that themselves! As we all have seen. Islam as it stands today is grossly corrupt and dangerous, much like the Catholic Church was during the Inquisition, and i'm saying this as a Catholic myself. But Islamic community leaders in this country resolutely refuse to change. Did you by chance read that fascinating double page spread in The Times on Saturday? I'm sure we have all heard of honour killings, but now we have the killings of apostates, the 15-20% of Muslims who have became Christian/Athiest and so on. Kidnapped by their own families and murdered (as Islamic doctrine demands the execution of Muslims who leave their faith) If you think I am talking bull, find the article and read it yourself. Oh and before you start im not being an 'Islamophobe' Im pointing out factual data from a reliable source.

Has multiculturalism failed? Ask Trevor Phillips...

Here is the link to the story.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1470584,00.html

And a quote:

“My family completely disowned me. They thought I had committed the biggest sin — I was born a Muslim, and so I must die a Muslim. When my husband found out, he totally disowned my sons. One friend tried to strangle me when I told him I was converting,” she said.
