I would be willing to host another Senate debate should the candidates agree.

The Libs don't even have once candidate yet. Chill, Nappy, chill.

Dude, show some respect. I'm sure he knows. I'm all for a debate, although I would prefer a real-time format.

I am definitely interested in a debate, and I largely agree with Simfan--a more constricted time schedule would ensure fair share of the floor and increase visibility of the whole debate.

Perhaps, however, on the grounds that you are sporting my banner in your signature (which is a tremendous honor!), we should have someone else moderate, unless the other candidates still approved of you being the host.

Last time I hosted, I had already made endorsements. It's up to you guys, but I certainly have no interest to spend my time moderating a "debate" that won't benefit the public at large. The debate must be as fair as possible. I think everything went well in August. Smiley

I certainly don't doubt that all. Also, to clarify, I only deleted the post since I saw that you had removed the banner (or perhaps at 3am I had merely begun to hallucinate) and did not want to be mistaken on the matter.

I say PM them to Nappy, and we can host this on the IRC. Someone should set up a running commentary thread.

Is there still any interest in doing a debate? I would love to, but we need to get it rolling pretty soon...

I don't think doing it on the IRC is really going to be plausible because it'll be nearly impossible for us all to have the same scheduled time online etc.

Agreed. Especially given that we now have only a few days. Maybe we could open a thread, given voters ~24 hours to submit questions, have a moderator pick 5, and then give the candidates the remaining time until the election to respond or something?
