I had been politically apathetic, not caring about anything until sometime in 2002, when word was coming out that the war in Iraq was imminent. So I found myself as a hardcore leftist on everything. Lately I seem to have changed a bit. I am trending to the right economically and, well, continuting my turn to the left on social matters. I'm not even sure whether plainclothes police officers are ethical. How has your politics trendede over the years?

I was a staunch conservative in high school.  Now I'm a neo-con.  That about sums it up.

I used to be pretty darn far left; I've dramatically moved towards the center since then.

I've moved politically in a way very similar to Gabu, and have generally held similar positions.

A Buchannan Brigader in elementary/jr. high, a McCainiac later in high school, then I drifted a bit libertarian (especially after the Patriot Act), and now I'm solidly behind Lamar Alexander.

I've always been about where I am on economic issues, but social issues have chopped-and-changed around a bit. I still hold some very left-wing fundamentals, but I'm more of a pragmatist now. Also, on many social issues, I just don't agree with the hard left anyway (ie, School vouchers).

Used to be a moderate (although somehow I was also a Republican who supported Pat Buchanan at the same time...don't ask me how).

2001-2002 took a hard swing to the right economically speaking, and have continued to drift in that direction slightly.

Socially speaking, I've always been a moderate [slightly left on the scale at first], and have drifted slowly right over the past 6 years or so to the point where I'm now a moderate [slightly right on the scale].

When I was in middle school and early in high school I was a populist (liberal economically, conservative socially). Then later in high school and into college, I went left on social issues. I've moderated both a bit since then.

I was a moderate leftist in high school and my first year of college. My opinions haven't changed much on social issues, except perhaps on drug legalization, but I have had dramatic changes in economics.

I was kind of right of center in middle and high school, although my opinions varied on lots of issues, then I moved to the FAR FAR left about the time I graduated, and I've moderated a bit since then.

I was a radical libertarian four years ago. I was against anti-trust laws, wanted roads to be privately owned, opposed any government involvement in education, and opposed any kind of mandatory taxes at all.

Wern't you 12 or 13 four years ago, Philip?

More props to you for knowing what anti-trust laws WERE at that age, but it doesn't seem like something that usually interests anyone at 12/13.
