Heh. I remember seeing this. Despite the rhetoric, the evangelicals know better than to do something like that. It's just a communal expression. And I think if the evangelicals read the New Testament instead of just invoking it, they'd get a lot to think about.
Voting for Jesus is a little like the weird Elvis obsession. I know an old guy and his wife who went to Graceland one time to participate in a seance. I said slowly, "Gary? You know better. Don't you really?" Yes, he did. And deep down his wife did too. But it was just a communal expression.
