Personally, I think Obama will win... but I also get the feeling that something ridiculous will happen on election day which will result in yet another Florida 2000 like debacle. Possibly a tie? Or some voter fraud shenanigans in a key state. Don't know - but if I have learnt one thing from this whole election (and btw I haven't learnt a thing, I learnt this a long time ago following US elections) is that the farce can always get farcier.

Romney: 275
Obama 263

Obama's GOTV machine is way overrated.  It cant even be compared to Bush's in 2004.  Rove worked on and perfected the GOP GOTV machine since early 2001 and used it in pretty much every election up through 2004.  It was a well oiled machine.  Obama's has just been thrown up in the last eight or nine months.  Maybe if Obama had done what Rove did in 2001 in 2009, things would be different.  Well, Barack Obama, your chickens are coming home to roost.

Not a final prediction...

Obama/Biden - 303EV - 49.1%
Romney/Ryan - 235EV - 48.9%

Phips, underestimate the Obama machine at your peril...

Yes, it would be better if he'd lost in 2008. Then he might be in a stronger position to win this time round, though it would still be better to lose because that would mean more Democratic state legislatures over the medium term.

What's the point in having a 'toss-up' option in this poll?

Romney could have had this in the bag if he'd won the second debate. Ah. What a fantastic alternate universe.
