According the msnbc, Former Vice President Al Gore (we all know him), is set to endorse Former Governor Howard Dean, for President. This may very well set the stone for Dean's nomination. So all of you who were so certain Dean will be nominated, may get your wish.

This may be a crushing blow, but if the Clinton's now endorse Dean, it would be a stunning attempt at unification......I really don't know what to think over this, but it doesn't look good.

The lines are being drawn in the sand now, this is also message to Kucinich, Sharpton, and Braun. It's crunchtime now, playtime is over. GET OUT and stop wasting time.

imho the Clinton's are looking at Gephardt and Clark, whoever looks strongest, they'll endorse.

it'll be Dean vs. Huh in the stretch run.

what this should do is set off a wave of dropouts. aside from the obvious candidates, I think this pretty much KILLS lieberman's campaign. I think he's going to drop out now and endorse Gep, that should give him a boost.

Kerry has come apart completely, he might get out and endorse Gep

As I think that article says, some people believe Gore is endorsing Dean, because he is hoping Dean will lose to Bush, which will leave the White House open for him in 2008. Gore will be 60 years old by then, and many people may have forgotten all about him. So if that is Gore's intentions as to why he endorses Dean,  then he is a fool, because he probably won't win in 2008, let alone be nominated.

Taken from other similar thread:
Gore Has Made a Desicon that will cost Dean the Election in 04

Why would Gore's decision ultimately effect Dean's election, and "cost" him the election?

This makes it tricky for the Clintons.  If they endorse Dean and he's crushed they look bad.  If they "dis" Dean, his followers won't fall in love with Hillary in 2008.  Deaniacs will be with Gore or Dean Redux in '08.

Is this really going to have that great of an effect? Are there really that many "Gore Democrats" who love Gore and will follow his endorsement?

This election is over.  Bush will remain president until 2009 when the next president could be Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I don't believe the Clinton's will endorse Dean.  If they endorse anybody (which I don't see as very likely--unless Hillary becomes the VP candidate, in which case Bill will endorse her and her running mate) it will Wesley Clark, in an attempt to bump him back up in the polls.

If Dean is the nominee, Bush wins.  If Clark is the nominee, Bush is favored, but Clark is a threat.

Clintons don't endorse anyone until their is a nominee and then they can always claim party unity.  What happens if they endorse Clarka nd Dean wins, they look stupid and are the outsiders to him.

2008 is there next time.

The only person who can stop dean now is gephardt. I think if clinton endorses gephardt it will give him more of a boost than the endorsement of dean. Lieberman its over buddy time to throw in the towel

Which is a shame, Leiberman being the only of the 9 with any measure of honesty and sanity about him.  On a side note, has anyone been to Toronto.  If Hillary Clinton ever becomes my leader, I'm outta here.

Very unlikely.  Clinton would be putting his neck out with Gephardt esp pre-IA which could finish Gephardt and then how would Clinton look?  BAD.  But outside of Landrieu in LA who has Clinton helped to victory, no one.

Calgary would be a better choice for you ...

or you can remain in Toronto and decide to change your position in the left-right political spectrum ...

or move in Montreal or Quebec City, and then, not only change position, but language Smiley

Vivement Montréal !!!

Nice pic of Houston.

Here's a skyline I think Reagan liked in '85 ...
