Can the mods disable this function?  I'm just thinking because a lot of us have large, obnoxious sigs.  I had one for a while.  Just for the sake of the speed of the forum tomorrow, it might be a good idea.

I've already disabled the option in my settings to view sigs, but temporarily disabling them would probably help forum speed under heavy load.

What do you think?

It does make sense.  I've had my option to view sigs disabled for several months, but it would be a good idea.  Any way we can ease burden on the server or on the speed of the forum is welcome for tomorrow.

I'm entering my third year of disabled sigs. The boards look so much nicer.

You mean removing them completely so that no one has a sig, as opposed to simply hiding them on a poster-by-poster basis, which we can already do?

I don't know if that's technically feasible or not.  If it is, then Dave's the only one who can do it.  You could suggest it to him in this thread:

I'm with Holmes. Disabled them years back and never regretted the decision.

Makes sense temporarily removing them for election day to speed up the Forum, but I think it's too late to bring the suggestion to Dave's attention.

Eh, I dont think there is. Either ways, I doubt that will slow us down for tomorrow. Besides, I'm glad I turned the sigs off years ago. Made everything better.
