Haha, the latter should all be guillotined.  Al is at worst (aside from the terrible crime of being a mod) slightly annoying at times.

I did! But I had no idea who it was. I just saw a girl with an old man in a dress and wondered what was so special about that until I realized that was actually Oscar de la Renta.

I'm such a plebeian, not knowing who Oscar de la Renta is.

Hey, I first heard of him because he designed the old Boy Scout uniforms.

Don't know what made me hit "show post," but it wasn't worth it.

Haha, the latter should all be guillotined.

This is the correct answer. Their mansions can then be turned into public housing and/or state-funded, free-to-visit museums.

RKoI would pretty clearly win, much like Rick Scott or Alan Grayson.

Guillotined?  Hmmm... slippery slope.

Certainly it is a sad reflection on American perceptions that most would see those nightmarish little cretins as somehow having "earned" their lofty perch in society, while so-called "welfare queens" continue on by leeching of their success, though.  The "rich kids of Instagram" are most definitely the true parasites.

Al/Al (normal), BTW.

You are more out of touch with the experience of most Americans than they are if you think that is the perception.  But most Americans would not consider them parasites since they don't find large amounts of consumer spending to be personally threatening.

HockeyDude's hesitance about breaking out the guillotine as a viable solution is terrible? That was part of what I thought was excellent.

Americans don't worship money and look up to those who have it?  Really?  I think you spend a little too much time with politically astute and informed individuals on boards like this, failing to see what people are really like out there.  Getting together with a random group of your average Americans, ESPECIALLY those who are well-off but not rich, and starting a political conversation is no pretty sight, that's for sure.  And it certainly should be seen as personally threatening when people given a great lot in life spend, spend, spend and contribute nothing; rich people spending money has never shown to do anything to improve economic conditions.  Their spending only contributes to ownership getting their greedy little mitts on more profits... which goes to their rich little bastards... and the cycle begins anew.  No, lifting the middle class, which is about 98 times larger than the elite that spawn the "rich kids of Instagram", is a much better way to get things moving in a stagnant economy.  Businesses expand and jobs are created when it is apparent that MANY people have expendable income and demand has to be met.  Do you think a car company who sees a few selects areas of Orange County dropping several million at their dealerships does anything to improve income projections, and therefore intice a business to hire more people, increase output, etc.  Nope, not really.

Not to mention the ignorance that comes with this type of lifestyle is not a positive thing for society.

I'm sorry I offended all you Paris Hilton fans out there, though.  Yup, Paris and her peers are truly fantastic specimens.
