I like the guy, but we'd be much better off picking one of the rising stars, like Cuomo or Gillibrand.

I really, REALLY like John Kerry, but no. Secretary of State would be nice for him though.

In a previous era, John Kerry would be a good candidate for 2016. It wasn't that long ago that candidates who previously lost general elections ran again and won (see: Richard Nixon). However, in our current political environment, I just don't think it's possible. The taint of losing is just too significant in voter's minds.

Presidential primary losers. Not presidential losers.

He lost an election to Dubya, raising and dashing the hopes of millions around the nation. I can relate to what a lot of Republicans are feeling now because I've experienced it myself. Kerry would be good as Secretary of State, but he shouldn't run for president again.

True. However, one could argue that even primary losers have the stench of losing. After all, the three last presidents all won the presidency in their first try.

Well, he'd seem like a total straight-shooter compared to the most recent person who was elected to the Massachusetts executive branch to run for President, but I don't think so.

And I say this as someone who has a more positive opinion of him then when I voted for him.

Age, and the fact that he ran and lost in 2004. I dont think he would want to anyways.
