Since there's been some argument on another thread about the difference between the liberal and conservative media bubbles (some blue avatars have been saying that the liberal and conservative media are basically the same), I decided to check it out for myself.

Liberals before 2010 election

So while some Democratic politicians were saying that there was hope, if they said they would lose that would depress turnout even further, most of the liberal media were aware that they would lose.

On the other hand, the conservatives...

Pretty much says it all. It really comes down to the idea that modern day liberals are swayed by facts, data and numbers. We saw the writing on the wall and knew we gonna lose way before election day. Then we gathered our thoughts, hatched a plan, and vowed to do better next time, which we did.

Conservatives are swayed more by gut feelings and emotion. So they're understandably having a harder time processing the results. Of course it's not their fault, the blame is shifted to literally everybody else.

Sorry if this offends anybody, but it's just how I see it.

In fairness, we were all more delusional about 2004, I think. I certainly was, and I'm sure lots of Dems on here were, too. Sam Wang told me that the undecideds would break for Kerry, and so I treated polls that showed Bush ahead 48-46 as good news for Kerry.
I'd say I learned a couple of lessons that year, though:
1) the candidate who's leading in all the polls is almost certainly going to be the candidate who will win, and
2) the passion and enthusiasm of my side is only half the story; the passion and enthusiasm of the other side counts for a lot, too, and I need to look for objective evidence on that front, rather than assuming that "they" couldn't possibly still support "that guy."

The only liberal bubble I subscribe to is The Newsroom, where even Sloan Sabbith's heroic reporting on the debt ceiling can't inform the electorate.
