It's common for political wives to be wary of their husbands running for president, as it tends to bring hyper-scrutiny to their personal lives.  But Karen Pence actually wants the media to talk up her husband's potential presidential ambitions:

Meanwhile, Michele Bachmann says she might run in 2016:

But then she walked it back somewhat the next day:

A new name to throw into the mix: Carly Fiorina:

http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/run-2016/2014/07/28/carly-fiorina-taking-2016-temperature

She's made two trips to New Hampshire this year, and she has a Super PAC which is focusing on just a handful of states….including Iowa and New Hampshire.

If Fiorina runs, I want to see a national "demon sheep" ad.

Even the threads about Todd Akin and Colleen Hanabusa being on the tickets are more likely than this. Wink

Christie will be in SC in September. With that, he'll cover all the early primary states.

Sounds like he's running.  He's apparently doing the whole "I don't really want to run, but if the people are clamoring for me, then I guess I have to."  But inevitably, such people are surrounded by folks who want them to run, who tell them how amazing they are, and how they're uniquely suited to higher office.

Note in the video clip associated with that article that he definitively says that if he runs for prez, he'll do so as a Republican and won't go third party.

I'm pretty sure that Ben Carson would be a less loud and softer spoken Herman Cain in the 2016.

No way he'll ever win, but he'll stay in for a few debates.

Another minor note on Carson: His book has been out for 10 weeks now, and it's still at #4 on the NYT best sellers list:

http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/hardcover-nonfiction/list.html

That puts it one spot ahead of Hillary Clinton's "Hard Choices", which has been out for only 7 weeks.

This is more than a week old, but here's a lengthy story on Schweitzer that covers the political wreckage left by his controversial comments on Cantor and Feinstein.  He also talks about Hillary Clinton and 2016:

Speaking of Schweitzer, read this post by David Weigel:

link

He observes that since the damaging comments by Schweitzer about Cantor and Feinstein were made, he hasn't appeared on MSNBC at all, though he used to be a regular fixture there, and remains under contract with the network.
