She is worth up to $120 million, so she has plenty of cash to fund her campaign, I don't know if she will be willing to though.

If she wants to fund a *serious* primary campaign, rather than do it on a shoestring, like Huckabee 2008, then it'll cost many tens of millions.  Most candidates for office just aren't willing to spend half their fortune on their campaigns.  It doesn't really happen.  If she runs, she'll rely mostly on traditional fundraising, and use her own $ only as a safety net.

OK, I just looked it up.  According to this:

http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-businessmen/ceos/carly-fiorina-net-worth/

her net worth is $80 million.  So not really enough to fund a serious nationwide presidential primary campaign unless she wants to bankrupt herself.  I doubt she's eager to blow half her fortune on a longshot presidential campaign.  So if she runs, she could kick in a little money for her campaign, but the majority of the $ would presumably come from fundraising.

Romney's net worth is $250 million, and he still raised the majority of his campaign $ for both primary campaigns the old fashioned way.

Thanks, I got the $120 million number from a different website.

Party sources emphasize there is still a small chance the former first lady will opt not to run, and some Democrats say there is no reason for her to begin a campaign so soon.

Let's hope this is true.

She is going to run even if the prospects aren't looking good. She is not a quitter.

The prospects really haven't changed too much. The biggest effects of the midterms for 2016 are that a) Appalachia is dead for Democrats and b) it will be more difficult for Dems to retake Congress than originally expected.

Huckabee, Santorum and Cruz are scheduled to attend Steve King's "Iowa Freedom Summit" in January

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/nov/18/steve-king-to-host-iowa-freedom-summit-in-january/

Wonder if any of them will have formed an exploratory by then.

I don't think you realize how hilarious that statement looks. Stop acting like the Ron Paul people. You sound like a cult member.

So early? Can't everyone wait until April at least?

Well I imagine she wants to raise some money in Q1 and clear the field, however one would hope she would at least wait until a couple weeks after Obama's state of the union.

Once Hillary announces, she becomes the defacto leader of the Democratic party (at least until she gets a serious challenger).

Walker said he's seriously considering running but "needs to feel like it's a calling."

Maybe he'll be the Perry of this primary season and wait until later before jumping in?

He's already suggested that he won't announce his plans until after the state budget is passed, which probably won't be until June:

Long Politico article on all Pub candidates. Rand's 95% in, will probably announce in April. Perry and Cruz are in, though doubts they'll get far. Rubio will announce after his book tour in January. Ryan's all but out, figuring he's young enough to wait.

It actually says Cruz has a good chance in the primaries but not the general.

Also, I now see it's not really a ranking.

He really doesn't though. He will probably see a lot of success early on, but I don't see him being more than flavor of the month. I agree with the article, he'll find success in Iowa but "will burn fast".

The Atlantic runs a profile of O'Malley, who, at his most exciting, speaks as if his candidacy were a conscious parody of campaign trail banality:
