Peter King won't get the fundraising to make it to Iowa and if he somehow did I doubt he'll break 2% of the vote.

Here's a "check list" of things that many of the likely candidates have done to indicate that they may or may not be interested in running:

What is Perry up to? I don't get it.

That Darrell Issa article is interesting. I've read he's the richest man in Congress, so he wouldn't have trouble with fundraising if he ran.

Donald Trump, who has floated the possibility both of running for NY governor in 2014 and running for president in 2016, now says that there's a 50-50 chance of him running for governor:

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2014/01/donald-trump-says-whether-he-runs-for-governor-could-come-down-to-gop-leader-e

My face just dropped then.

I'm confused at the timing. Isn't it a bit late to start campaigning?

While I do not believe either Peter King or John Bolton will make more than 1% in the primaries, they are likely to half each other's votes if they both run, as they both appeal to those national security Republicans.

Ventura's been saying since 2012 that his criteria for running are full ballot access and debate participation. If he somehow manages to get onto the ballot in all 50 states, than it will still be much harder to achieve debate participation.

Martin O'Malley says he will sign a bill decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana, which according to the National Journal, is good for his potential presidential run.

Is the general consensus among Democrats and her supporters that there is no way Elizabeth Warren is running? I've read a lot of mixed things. And I don't view her "I'm not running" claims any different than Romney's.
Among those who are paying attention, yes. She rejected the PAC Ready for Warren and insisted she supports Clinton. Romney hasn't made such a clear denial.

Santorum and Bolton should be in the second tier, obviously.

Interesting. Hope she isn't starting to doubt her chances...

Then again this is Politico.
